Putting Maine First Tour: Day Four
We had a great final day of our 16-county tour.
Aroostook County
I started the day meeting with mill workers at the Twin Rivers Paper Company in Madawaska. Mainers deserve a senator that will stand up for workers’ rights, just like I’ve done as Speaker.
Piscataquis County
Our second stop was at Northwoods Canoe Company in Atkinson. Small businesses are key to our state’s economy, and they represent what Maine is all about — hard work, resilience, and a commitment to our communities.
Somerset County
In Somerset County, I toured the Margaret Chase Smith Museum in Skowhegan. I’ve always admired Margaret Chase Smith’s commitment to standing strong and being honest with the people she was elected to represent — even when it meant going against her party. It’s time we restore independence to this Senate seat.
Waldo County
The final stop of the day — and of our tour — was in Waldo County, where we had our 40th Supper with Sara in Unity. From our first supper in Kennebunkport to our final event in Unity, I’m so grateful for everyone who’s joined us over the past 16 months. As if the night couldn’t get any sweeter, I was surprised by my family, and my three kids, Julian, Alek, and Josie spoke at the event. I’m so glad I got to share this evening with them.
